This essay explores gender in some of Stanley Kubrick's films. My aim for this project was to investigate whether or not four films directed by Kubrick (Lolita, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining and Eyes Wide Shut) portrayed misogynistic values and if I ruled that they did, I wanted to find out if there was a pattern for this discrimination all throughout his filmography. I came to the conclusion that those movies actually discriminate female characters because the women are sexualized or battered, among other things.
